Cookie is a 3 year old beautiful yellow lab mix! She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and is heartworm negative.

Cookie was found on the side of a country road as many of our rescue stories go and thankfully someone stopped to help her and get her to safety!

Cookie is in search of her forever home. She is a very sweet baby who has a heart of gold! She just simply loves people, and she loves to be loved on. She is great with other dogs and loves to play but also loves to snuggle up with her human! She can be quite territorial over her chewy toys with other dogs and wants to keep them all to herself, but she is learning to share. She does have energy at times and would need daily exercise, as with any other dog. A fenced in yard would be perfect! She does jump up on you at times, and we are working on the habit. She just wants to be so close to you and give you lots of love! She is so sweet and absolutely loves everyone she meets, and likewise everyone loves her because she is so sweet, loving, and affectionate.

Cookie has sub-luxating patellas (knees) on both hind legs. Per our vet's recommendation, she does not need surgery at this time; due to her size, it would hinder her more than help her. Per our vet, she will likely need surgical intervention well later on in life, but not necessarily. She gets around great though, and it doesn't hinder her as she walks, plays, and runs with no trouble! She does have trouble jumping on a tall bed on her own but that seems to be the only thing that she has any hindrances on.

All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.   In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs.  Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog.
